Why the E-100e

  • Runs on battery or engine power

The E-100e runs on battery-electric power, or mounts on an internal combustion engine chassis with a charging power source. You are not locked into one kind of vehicle.

  • Built for Class 1–2 delivery

It is small and lightweight but built to be robust and durable, designed for Class 1–2 trucks and supporting higher payloads per delivery.

  • Fast pull-down, protected load

Fast pull-down and temperature recovery keep products protected through the whole delivery cycle, which matters on stop-and-go urban routes.

  • Fewer moving parts to service

An all-aluminum frame and a more compact envelope with fewer moving parts bring maintenance costs down and uptime up.

  • Quiet enough for night delivery

Electric operation means low noise for night-time deliveries and low vibration for driver comfort.

  • Fresh and frozen on one unit

A setpoint range from -4°F to 68°F carries chilled and frozen products on the same route.

The E-100e is Thermo King's smallest all-electric truck and van unit, designed for Class 1–2 delivery vehicles on urban and last-mile routes. Thermo King proved it in Europe before bringing it to North America in 2026. It runs on battery-electric power or on an internal combustion engine chassis with a charging power source, so a mixed fleet can run one unit across both.

Electric refrigeration for the last mile.

What the E-100e brings to a small delivery vehicle.

Battery or engine. Your choice.

The E-100e runs on battery-electric power, or it mounts on an internal combustion engine chassis with a charging power source. Fleets running both kinds of vehicle can standardize on one refrigeration unit instead of two, and a vehicle swap does not mean a new reefer.

  • Rooftop or nose-mount, for different body configurations
  • Inverter technology varies compressor speed to match demand
  • Reverse cycle for cooling, heating and defrost

Made for stop-and-go routes.

Urban delivery is a cycle of open doors and short hops, and that is where a unit either holds temperature or does not. Thermo King builds the E-100e for fast pull-down and temperature recovery so the load stays protected across the whole route, and it carries chilled and frozen products on a setpoint range from -4°F to 68°F.

Less to go wrong.

An all-aluminum frame improves physical and technological reliability while enabling higher payloads per delivery. Fewer moving parts in a more compact envelope bring maintenance costs down and uptime up, and electric operation means low noise for night-time deliveries and low vibration for the driver.

Questions

About the E-100e. Anything else, call your shop.

What size vehicle does the E-100e fit?

Thermo King designed it for Class 1–2 trucks and small delivery vehicles, including electric van conversions and engine-driven platforms.

Does it need a battery-electric vehicle?

No. It runs on battery-electric power, or it mounts on an internal combustion engine chassis with a charging power source.

Can it carry frozen loads?

Yes. The setpoint range runs from -4°F to 68°F, so it carries chilled and frozen goods. Net cooling is 3,500 BTU/hr at a 35°F box and 1,400 BTU/hr at 0°F, both at 100°F ambient.

How is it different from the E-200e?

The E-200e is the higher-capacity unit for Class 3–4 trucks and larger vans: 5,500 BTU/hr at a 35°F box against the E-100e's 3,500, and 600 CFM of airflow against 560.

Is it new to North America?

Yes. Thermo King ran it in Europe first and brought it to North America in 2026. Call your shop to talk through fitment on your vehicle.
