Which truck unit?

Box-size guides for both kinds of unit, in two taps. Self-powered units carry their own diesel engine; vehicle-powered units run off the truck's.

The guides assume 3″ of insulation (4″ at -20°F), ten door openings a day and a box 96″ wide and high. Unit selection may vary. Not in the guides: the e1000, for 16–28 ft boxes, and the UT-1290, under the box.

Questions

Self-powered or vehicle-powered?

Self-powered units, the T-90 Series and the UT-1290, carry their own diesel engine. Vehicle-powered V-Series units drive the compressor from the truck's engine, with SmartPower electric standby as an option. The e1000 is all-electric.

Which unit fits my truck class?

The T-Series of large self-powered units, the UT-1290 and the e1000 are for Classes 5-7. The larger capacity direct-drive V-Series units are for Classes 1-4.

Can a truck unit run plugged in?

The T-90 Series and V-Series offer SmartPower electric standby as an option, and the UT-1290 offers electric standby. The e1000 runs from the truck's own battery pack.

What refrigerant do they use?

R-452A on the T-90 Series, the e1000 and the V-Series MAX units. The non-MAX V-Series units use R-134A. They're rated at 0°F but not allowed to operate below 25°F.
