In March 2024, Thermo King® announced its Electrification Readiness Program, a new dealer program that equips its dealer network with “deep technical expertise, resources and support for advancing decarbonization in the transport refrigeration sector.”

Why Thermo King started it

The program will further enable customers’ transition to more sustainable fleet solutions, improved efficiency and industry decarbonization. It will evolve along with future product launches, regulatory requirements and compliance mandates.

How the program works

Thermo King’s electrification experts partner with an Electrification Champion at each participating dealership, raising the standard of service customers can expect for electric and next-generation equipment in four areas:

  • Technical Skill: highly skilled technicians with knowledge of electrification and additional training in decarbonization solutions.
  • Infrastructure Preparedness: ensuring electric charger accessibility and power availability.
  • Commercial Readiness: regulatory and compliance expertise, risk management and consultative selling.
  • Safety and Tooling: expansive safety and equipment operation capabilities.

As of March 2024, more than 35 dealership locations across the U.S. were certified for the program, and Thermo King planned to offer qualification preparation to its entire dealer network, more than 180 locations, by the end of 2025.

Why choose electric?

The all-electric e1000 truck unit meets regulations for zero emissions, including CARB. Its benefits include reduced maintenance compared to diesel equivalents and less sound and vibration than equivalent capacity diesel units.

If you're looking for ways to reduce your operation's environmental impact or improve business efficiency, our team can walk you through Thermo King's electric options, such as the e1000 truck unit and the TriPac Envidia all-electric APU.
