Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Thermo King® Products: Precedent® S-Series

In 2023, Thermo King marked the 10th anniversary of its Precedent® S-Series products. Our customers love the series for its performance.

First in the industry

The Precedent S-Series was the first TRU in the refrigerated transportation industry to achieve Evergreen California Air Resources Board (CARB) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Tier 4 engine compliance. A decade later, it’s still a proven solution that meets the strictest emission regulations without modifications like a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

Focused on sustainability

The Precedent® S-Series was designed with environmental impact and future sustainability in mind. The units are Evergreen CARB compliant, so customers can buy and run them knowing they meet environmental regulations.

As of March 2023, the Precedent S-Series has helped customers avoid more than 6 million metric tons of CO2 emissions since it came to market. Trane Technologies, which Thermo King is part of, has set a goal of “reducing customers’ carbon footprints by one billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.”
